Dr. Mrinal K. Das is the Senior Director of Technical Marketing within onsemi’s Advanced Power Division. His primary responsibility is the alignment of onsemi’s semiconductor technologies with the needs of the division’s business units. He has been at the leading edge of SiC technology for the past three decades beginning with his graduate studies on SiC MOSFETs at Purdue University followed by industry roles in technology and business development at Cree/Wolfspeed, Texas Instruments, and Sanan Integrated Circuit prior to joining onsemi. He completed B.S.E.E. and B.A. degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. He also completed M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University. Dr. Das is a Senior Member of the IEEE and the inventor of over 40 registered patents.

Dr. Gerald Deboy received the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in physics from the Technical University Munich in 1991 and 1996 respectively. He joined Siemens Corporate Research and Development in 1992 and the Semiconductor Division of Siemens in 1995, which became Infineon Technologies later on. His research interests were focused on the development of new device concepts for power electronics based on the Superjunction principle. From 2004 onward he was heading the Technical marketing department for power semiconductors and ICs within the Infineon Technologies Austria AG. Since 2009 he is leading a System Innovation group specializing on new fields for power electronics with specific focus on application cases for wide bandgap technologies. He is a Sr. member of IEEE and has served as a member of the Technical Committee for Power Devices and Integrated Circuits within the Electron Device Society. In 2023 Dr. Gerald Deboy was awarded the IEEE Medal for Environmental and Safety Technologies jointly with co-recipients Dr. David Coe and Dr. Tatsuhiko Fujihira for contributions to concept and realization of Superjunction devices. Dr. Deboy has authored and coauthored more than 100 papers in national and international journals including contributions to three student text books. He holds currently more than 100 granted international patents and has more applications pending.

Maurizio Di Paolo Emilio holds a Ph. D. in Physics and is a Telecommunications Engineer. He has worked on various international projects in the field of gravitational waves research, designing a thermal compensation system (TCS) and data acquisition and control systems, and on others about x-ray microbeams in collaboration with Columbia University, high voltage systems and space technologies for communications and motor control with ESA/INFN. TCS has been applied to the Virgo and LIGO experiments, which detected gravitational waves for the first time and earned the Nobel Prize in 2017. Since 2007, he has been a reviewer for scientific publications for academics. Moreover, he has collaborated with different electronic industry companies and several Italian and English blogs and magazines as a technical writer/editor, specializing in several topics of electronics and technology. He participated in many conferences as a speaker of keynotes for different topics such as x-ray, space technologies, and power supplies. Maurizio has been an AspenCore content editor since 2019. He is currently editor-in-chief of Power Electronics News and EEWeb and a correspondent for EE Times. He is the host of PowerUP, a podcast about power electronics, and the promoter and organizer of the PowerUP Virtual Conference, . Dr. Peter Friedrichs received his Dipl.-Ing. in microelectronics from the Technical University of Bratislava in 1993 and finished his Ph.D thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute FhG-IIS-B in Erlangen. His focus area of expertise was the physics of the MOS interface in SiC. In 1996 he joined the Siemens AG and was involved in the development of power devices on SiC. Peter joined SiCED GmbH & Co. KG, a company being a joint venture of Siemens and Infineon, on March the 1st, 2000. Since July 2004 he was the managing director of SiCED. In 2009 he achieved the Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. From the University of Hagen. After the integration of SiCED’s activities into Infineon he joined Infineon Technologies AG on April 1st, 2011 and acts currently as Fellow SiC Innovation & Industrialization.

Simon Keeton joined onsemi in 2007 and currently serves as executive vice president and general manager of the Power Solutions Group of onsemi and Semiconductor Components Industries, LLC. During his career, Mr. Keeton has held various management positions within the Company. D.) from the Catholic University of Leuven and imec with a thesis entitled “Reliability study of power gallium nitride-based transistors” in 2011. He is leading author or co-author of more than 50 journal papers or international conference contributions. After his Ph.D. graduation, he has been leading projects aiming to develop GaN HEMTs for several applications (RF and power switching). Before that, he was the founder and CTO of Quanlight, Inc., an LED start-up focusing on development of novel yellow-red chip technology. At PowerAmerica, he has managed a budget of $156 million that he strategically allocated to over 210 industrial and University projects to accelerate WBG semiconductor clean energy manufacturing, workforce development, and job creation. His PowerAmerica educational activities have trained 430 full-time University students in applied WBG projects and engaged over 7000 attendees in tutorials, short courses, and webinars. Currently, he is negotiating a $64M U.S. Department of Energy PowerAmerica renewal to further catalyze WBG power technologies. Dr. Veliadis is an ECE Professor at NCSU and an IEEE Fellow and EDS Distinguished Lecturer. He has 27 issued U.S. patents, 8 book chapters, and over 150 peer-reviewed publications. Prior to entering academia and taking an executive position at Power America in 2016, Dr. Veliadis spent 21 years in the semiconductor industry where his work included the design, fabrication, and testing of SiC devices, GaN devices for military radar amplifiers, and financial and operations management of a commercial semiconductor fab. He has a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from John Hopkins University (1995).
